Trappe River Construction

The Trappe River Company’s roots lie deep in Wausau’s early history. Michael Juers, owner and founder, is the great- grandson of Henry Juers, a German cabinetmaker who arrived in Wausau in the 1870s to practice his trade with the Curtis and Yale Millwork Company, which was located on Wausau’s west side near what is now the intersection of First and Stewart Avenues. As a cabinetmaker and Wausau’s first city treasurer, Henry worked with other immigrant families to settle and build a thriving community. Henry and his son, Otto, built two sturdy homes for their families still located on Wausau’s west side, one of which was Michael’s home until he began his construction career in Wausau in 1977.
